Welcome to Bril Val De Vie, our smallest practice and a concept store where we love to test out new eyewear ideas! We’re also the official eyewear partner of the prestigious Val De Vie estate, where we were invited to provide our services, making us part of this beautiful community. As a community-based practice, we’re dedicated to serving our local residents, and we proudly sell the most contact lenses.

One unique feature of our space is the stunning wallpaper featuring Frida Kahlo. Frida embodies creativity, individuality, and bold expression—qualities that resonate with eyewear. Just as Frida embraced her unique style, we believe that every pair of glasses should reflect your personality. So, whether you’re looking for something classic or daring, we’re here to help you find eyewear that tells your story!

Lize Smit
Optometrist

Graduating from the University of the Free State, she knew as early as matric that working for Bril was her dream. What drew her in? The way Bril approaches optometry with a funky and bold style, standing out from other practices. She loves that we make a difference in a fun way, especially through our commitment to social good. 

Meet Aldré, our wonderful optical assistant at Bril Val De Vie! With four years of experience in optometry, she brings a wealth of knowledge and a friendly touch to our team. Aldré is known for her warm personality and, of course, her prettiest smile that can brighten anyone’s day.

Fun Fact

Lize’s from Secunda and loves nothing more than visiting coffee shops and wine farms. And back in the day, she’d be the one chasing after our patio umbrellas whenever the wind decided to blow them away! Aldré may be a bit clumsy, but that just adds to her charm! When she’s not helping clients, you can find her enjoying her favourite food—sushi!
