Bril Concept, Where Eyewear Meets Creativity

Welcome to Bril Val De Vie, our smallest practice and a concept store where we love to test out new eyewear ideas! We’re also the official eyewear partner of the prestigious Val De Vie estate, where we were invited to provide our services, making us part of this beautiful community. As a community-based practice, we’re dedicated to serving our local residents, and we proudly sell the most contact lenses.

One unique feature of our space is the stunning wallpaper featuring Frida Kahlo. Frida embodies creativity, individuality, and bold expression—qualities that resonate with eyewear. Just as Frida embraced her unique style, we believe that every pair of glasses should reflect your personality. So, whether you’re looking for something classic or daring, we’re here to help you find eyewear that tells your story!

MEET THE TEAM

Izaan Cornelius Optometrist

Izaan grew up in Gauteng. Her journey into optometry started early—being quite near-sighted meant frequent childhood trips to the optometrist, which sparked her passion for helping others with vision problems. Now, as an optometrist, she takes pride in offering compassionate, attentive care and creating a personalized experience for every patient, just like what we strive for at Bril. 

Meet Juan-Marie, our wonderful optical assistant at Bril Val De Vie! Juan-Marie was born and raised in the lovely town of Paarl, a place full of warmth and history. She is the 4th generation in her family to carry the name “Jeanette”.

Fun Fact

When Izaan’s not helping people see the world more clearly, you can find her exploring nature through cycling and hiking, or unwinding with crochet projects like cozy blankets and jerseys. She also loves discovering delightful bakeries and visiting wine farms—it’s one of her favourite ways to indulge!

Juan-Marie swam in her school’s A-team. She loves watching movies in her free time and has a big passion for clothes and style. This ties in perfectly with her work in optometry, where fashion and function come together.
